happy (belated) birthday chantal

chantal has been a true inspiration to me. her blogging and video work is what got me to start *this* blog and we've had so many camera whore moments together.
while we were off cruising without her (leaving the day of her birthday no less) she mentioned to get LOTS of video. drawing on her as an inspiration, alex & myself put together this little video to honour her birthday!

golden gate
alas, the first pic from my most recent pic has appeared.
this one was my favourite backdrop throughout the trip. not only did i take mine, chantal's, and ashley's pictures in front of this backdrop, random passerby with cameras were forced to stand in front of this so i could take great pics of 'em to take home with them.
truly one of the highlights of the trip was our afternoon on baker beach below the golden gate bridge.

cops & dogs
ashley left for the DR today;
hopefully he'll see get to see this live!
being able to watch these
security guards hang out with their dogs,
while we all wait for a plane
in the punta cana airport.
priceless

smile

ashley and i embark on our second road trip of the year today. our last was six months ago when we went to buffalo, followed by a spontaneous drive from buffalo to cleveland. this time the plan is to head to buffalo, shop 'til we drop, and drive over to pittsburgh. i'm hoping to check out the andy warhol museum, and discover the "real" liberty street (yay queer as folk).
this picture is from two years ago, one of our first cross-border road trips when we went to visit our friend chantal (who leaves for hungary today!) in nyc. this sign is seen when you cross into pennsylvania. and yes, we did smile.
